A limited selection of OKO Clinical Topics have been developed into CME activities. These activities include a pre-test, a review of the OKO topic, and a post-test with feedback.

Participants may earn up to 1 - 4 hours of AMA-PRA Category 1 CME credit for each module (actual credits earned are based on the time spent completing the activity). The cost of the modules depends on one's membership status and the number of credits available.

Risk Management Continuing Medical Education

This website has been created by the Medical Liability Committee to serve as a central repository for Risk Management educational programs of the AAOS. It is our belief that as AAOS Members become more cognizant of ways to reduce their liability risk, their exposure will decrease and they will also provide better care for their patients. Relationships with Industry

In recent years, there has been extensive publicity and public discussions on the relationship between pharmaceutical and medical device makers and individual physicians. Articles questioning some of these relationships have appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post. Further, in 2005, the U.S. Department of Justice began investigating certain consulting or professional service arrangements between orthopaedic surgeons and industry; there has been no resolution of this investigation to date.

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) has provided guidance on the appropriate relationship between physicians and industry. This OKO feature allows you to access the sources of this guidance from one convenient web page.
