In April of 2005, Standards of Professionalism (SOPs) on orthopaedic expert witness testimony were adopted by AAOS. These SOPs establish mandatory, minimum levels of acceptable conduct for all Academy Members who provide orthopaedic expert witness testimony in the legal or administrative arena. Alleged violations of the SOPs may serve as the basis for a grievance to and adjudication by the AAOS. The focus of this 90-minute webinar will be on the SOPs on orthopaedic expert witness testimony. After a presentation about the SOPs, participants will listen in on a mock deposition and vote on whether or not any SOPs were violated. The program will include discussion of the SOP violation in a grievance deposition. Participants will have an opportunity to pose your specific questions to faculty for their answers.
