This three-part audio-slideshow lecture, developed in association with the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society, provides orthopaedic surgeons with as wide variety of facts and tools for identifying and treating child abuse, adult domestic violence, and elder abuse. The clinical and radiographic features of each type of family violence are discussed in detail. Differential diagnoses are also discussed. Expert advice and tips are provided for interviewing, evaluating, and treating patients with orthopaedic injuries that are the result of family violence. The role of the orthopaedist in recognizing and reporting such injuries is also highlighted. CME credit is available. Links to additional resources are provided.
