2016 AWARD WINNER This video presents the surgical technique for repair of a rupture of the distal biceps tendon insertion. The video discusses the patient demographics and risk factors for rupture of the distal biceps tendon insertion. The preoperative examination findings are presented, and indications for surgery are reviewed. The relevant surgical anatomy is demonstrated. The surgical technique involves the use of a single incision for retrieval, suture, and reinsertion of the tendon to the radial tuberosity with the combined use of a looped suture, button, and interference screw. The postoperative rehabilitation protocol, complications, pearls, and pitfalls are discussed.
