Targeted Muscle Reinnervation (TMR) is an innovative approach to clinical problems including pain management and motor control in limb loss and traumatic upper extremity injury. This webinar features two surgeons and two therapists who will provide perspective on indications, surgical approaches and goals, therapeutic techniques and outcomes to maximize functional restoration in devastating injuries of the upper extremity.
At the conclusion of this webinar, learners should be able to:
· Understand basic mechanisms for TMR in pain control and motor control of the injured upper extremity
· Describe outcome measures used for functional performance and patient perception of function, pain and satisfaction
· Discuss implications for future advances related to TMR
